Feeding Recommendations

​

• ​Always feed by weight not volume

• Introduce any new feeds into your horse’s diet gradually over a 1-2 week period

• Horses require a minimum of 1.5% of body weight (kg) of forage per day

• For example, a 300kg pony will require at least 4.5kg of forage daily or 500kg horse will require 7.5kg of forage daily

• Forage requirements depend on pasture availability, horse’s weight, age, size, condition and work level

• Consult a qualified nutritionist for a complete feeding plan to suit your horse's individual requirements

• Ensure your horse always has access to clean drinking water

Storage Advice

​

• Chaff is a natural product and must be stored in a cool and dry area out of direct sunlight.  Once opened store in a secured feed bin. Our chaff is best used within 12 months from production date.
